Point Reyes National Seashore is a must see spot north of San Francisco. Both locals and tourists enjoy this National Park. There are plenty of things to do here like kayaking, boating, fishing, hiking and tule elk sightings.
Point Reyes Lighthouse is part of the National Seashore and it’s 45 minute drive from the Visitor Center. On your schedule, put at least an hour to go around here as the lighthouse itself is a hike up and down. They say it’s 30 stories high. It’s a workout of stairs but it’s manageable.
Muir Woods National Monument is also part of the Golden Gate National Recreation, north of San Francisco. It is known for hiking with redwoods. It has many trails to follow and friendly to all ages.
Marine Headlands, Battery Spencer,Kirby Cove are all found at the north of the Golden Great Bridge. This is known as one of the best spots to take pictures of the Golden gate Bridge.
Fort Point National Historic Site is a great place for history. It also has a museum of how it was used as a hospital in WWII. This is directly underneath the Golden Gate Bridge and is nice to see as a different angle of this popular bridge.
Baker Beach, Battery Chamberlin and Lands End Lookout are all found on the South West side of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. This is another great spot to take photos of the famous Golden Gate Bridge.
Alcatraz Island and Fisherman’s Wharf are right by the city. You need to take a boat from the Fisherman’s wharf to get to Alcatraz. There’s a lot of delicious seafood restaurants at the Fisherman’s wharf. Parking is hard but there is a free parking for visitors of certain restaurants. While Alcatraz history is pretty amazing and worth a visit.
