California and Nevada is just blessed with beautiful, natural surroundings. It has beaches, awesome hikes, marvelous parks and a lot more. One of the best places to visit here is Lake Tahoe. Lake Tahoe is found in the Northern side of California and the Western side of Nevada. Yes, Lake Tahoe is found in two states. It is quite vast.

Flying to Lake Tahoe is easy as it has the Reno-Lake Tahoe airport. There are several airlines that can fly here. On this trip, I chose to fly to Sacramento to meet my best friend who is coming from San Francisco. Here is my vlog using Boutique Air as my chosen airline. No, I did not fly private. Also, note that I flew during the Covid-19 pandemic and a lot are not normal or its in new normal.

The drive to Lake Tahoe is quite scenic. Expect rows of pine trees, the flowing river and the lovely view of the lake. It took us 2 hours to get to South Lake Tahoe from Sacramento. This place is definitely worth the flight and the drive.

For hotel, we chose Hard Rock (Nevada) because they were offering a big discount during this time. Find out if it’s worth it. I have a vlog at the end of this post about it.

There are several things you can do in Lake Tahoe. The very first thing is to visit the Lake, enjoy the views and maybe even play with ducks. The popular activity here is to go paddle boarding but it maybe too cold at times. The trick is do not fall into the water if you can.

There are are bountiful of hikes to go to as well. Our chosen trail is the Eagle Falls Trail. It is an easy trail and it could go as long as you want it. This trail is quite popular with the kids and the dogs.
