The #Iwantabschallenge was launched last March 2, 2015 with 5 challengers and 3 judges. The first judge is our resident nutritionist/dietician Bern Atencio with boyfriend and physical best affordable elliptical trainer Lewis Medina showing. Our second judge is the known Sports doctor Dr. Gar Eufemio and last but not the least, is also the popular sports trainor, Coach Raul Banzon.
This challenge will run for 6 months. The true goal behind this is to extend to the public knowledge that true fitness can be achieved. Furthermore, on how to achieve that fitness goal. Why 6 months when it just takes 3 weeks to form a habit? Well, we also advocate lifestyle change and thirty year plan. The challenge does not believe in short solutions.
In our first AA (Abs Anonymous), our 5 challengers, resident nutritionist and trainor gathered to measure weight, height, bmi, metabolic age, muscle percentage, fat percentage wan waist to hip ratio. These are very important factors to measure someone’s physique. Our resident nutritionist, Bern Atencio, also gave some lessons on the importance of diet. Each challenger were able to sit with the resident nutritionist and trainor for their goals.

1. Ed Castillo
Ed is a young professional in the field of IT with a renewed liking for fitness. He likes to challenge himself in any way possible. He has a passion for the sport of Ultimate. This sport was just a hobby for him that has become his lifestyle. He aims that through eating healthy and maintaining his new passion for fitness, he’ll be able to compete in Ultimate at the highest level possible. His #iwantabschallenge goal is to be able to play Ultimate at the highest level possible.

You can’t describe Gali in one piece of paper. There’s so much to this guy; from being an athlete, to a traveler, to being a restaurateur, to now a serious corporate rat and the list goes on. He is the typical goofball who would never run out of antics to make anyone’s day brighter. He used to represent the country in international tournaments in Ultimate Frisbee and has been on top physical condition until he started working in the corporate world. His #iwantabschallenge goal for this challenge is to have a total lifestyle change. He says” We are not getting any younger and with the rate that I’m punishing my body, I might consider getting early insurance. Haha!”

5. Jofti Villena
Jofti is currently a health activist, fitness enthusiast and a freelance writer and blogger. She is the owner of www.healthactivist.ph. In addition to maintaining her blog, she is also busy with her work as an assistant in a research project on community-managed health care programs at the University of the Philippines. To understand further her work, she enrolled and currently on her second semester as an MA student of the Health Policy Studies program of the College of Public Health, UP Manila. Her #iwantabschallenge goal is to have personal take on health promotion. “If I am to promote health, I have to be consistent also with my health goals for myself,” she added. For this challenge, her goal is to bring her weight down at least 7-10 lbs, strengthen her core and eat healthily. Hopefully abs will be visible on the 6th month.
