Master Cleanse is my first big step for 2013 and it was not easy. Itâs Salt Water Flush (SWF) first thing in the morning. Mix 1L water with Sea Salt. There is no simple way of easing out the experience. Imagine drinking 32oz/1liter of the beach. This is the exact feeling. Then wait for it to brew in your tummy. When the rumble couldnât be held itâs time to go to the loo.
Your meal for the whole day is 6-12 oz of a special lemonade drink. This drink is composed of fresh lemons, maple syrup (Grade B) and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Before bed, take a laxative tea and the rumble starts again the next day.
This is my experience:
First Day (Jan 2), bought all the ingredients at Healthy Options and started the detox right away with a 1L Salt Water Flush. Prolly, the grossest feeling ever. Sea Salt is not good for you and your body tries to flush it out. Expect nausea until you get rid of this âcrapâ (pun intended). Also expect to go 2-4 times. Then I went for my first lemonade drink. It was heaven after the SWF. The whole day was busy and I was excited for the result. I didnât feel hungry at all. I took the laxative tea at night.
Second Day (Jan3) woke me up with a pain in the tummy. A cold feeling that signals me to go to the loo. And so I did. The morning started with SWF. Yuck! Then Facebook and twitter of food posts then at the same time hated and loving myself for doing this.
I also volunteered out with Red Cross and saw hundreds of people displaced from the fire that happened Christmas. They didnât have food; shelter and most of their clothes were burnt. I realized Master Cleanse is nothing compared to what they are going throughâŚ
Third day (Jan4) is the hardest day according to everyone who did it. I had to go out of town on a business trip. The meeting took place in CPK where they ordered my fave salad. I didnât feel hungry and I was successful on refusing to take a bite. I even refused an ice cream bar.
It was all easy until the early evening. I started to feel withdrawals. The cravings came out and I could smell food that was not there. I brave myself and watched a movie on my tab. This is a great way to deviate your self. This is unless youâre a masochist and you like to feel pain.
Fourth Day (Jan5) starts the weekend when I tried to see no one and just start working on my business. I also refused parties, which I canât wait to attend soon. I was also feeling more withdrawals on this day.

Fifth Day (Jan6) is just the church and nothing more. I went to get more movies for my tab. I was starting to smell popcorn and refused to think about it.
Sixth Day (Jan7) is when I looked at the mirror and saw the difference. My arms got smaller. My clothes started to fit better and I looked better on it. This is awesome! Iâm back to my normal weight.
Seventh Day (Jan8) is the day when I could call it quits. I didnât want to lose my muscles so I started the day without the SWF. I had still the lemonade drink for breakfast and lunch. I had a tuna and cracker snack followed by orange smoothie by Jamba Juice as dinner. Then I trained for Ultimate Frisbee. I had post workout meal, which is a grass fed beef burger, lettuce wrapped instead of bun.

I did this twice and it has not failed me. The second time took a little while to get the effects. I wonder how it is the third time.
There is supposed to be ease out period for Master Cleanse to ease stomach pain but I choose to skip them to retain my muscles. As much as possible, take the ease out program. Its quite painfully to have regular meal right away.
Master Cleanse is effective on detoxifying and leaning your body, no deny.
In summary, Master cleanse is an effective way to drop the pounds ASAP. I saw big changes from my friends. Unfortunately, I did not see a big change on my body although it got me back to my normal ideal weight.
