Budapest is actually two places divided by a river, Buda and Pest.  The two cities were united in 1873.  This place offers plenty of things todo from daytime throughout night time.

There is the Castle Hill where you could hike around and see the beautiful view of the city.   Aside from the view, the hill itself is a fantastic location.  The Danube river is right beside it.  Take a cruise on this river and see more panoramic views of the city.

In Budapest, I have tried the best chicken paprikash.  Its chicken with sourcream inside pita pockets.  Try more Hungarian dish like goulash at the Central Market Hall and local distinguished restaurants.  Another thing to try here are the local baths. Its quite an experience  😉
