Kenya (Can you) Take it?

“Just like in movies” was my first impression when we were on a ride from Nairobi to Masai Mara.  The land was not much fertile but it was a beautiful sight.  It was the early start of December and the colors of yellow and green were apparent throughout the vast land.
My eagerness cannot be contained as we near the Natural Reserve of Masai Mara.  Family of sheep, eagles, zebras and deer were visble along the way. It is recommended to stay overnight near Masai Mara since it is a five hour drive from Nairobi.  There are flights available but it could be costly.
Inside the reserve, the lucky ones can get to see the big five including elephant, rhinoceros, lion..
There is no guarantee that all five can be seen since the land is so vast and animals are unpredictable.  Although, the locals say July is your biggest bet since this is the time of migration.  Knowledge of animals can be amplified during this tour.  Like the reason why lions are called kings (males only).  They live to look good with their facial hair blown freely by the wind.  On the other hand, the female labors, hunt for food, feed the babies and have sex with the males.
May it be a movie with live actors like…. Or animation like Lion’s King, animals are God’s creatures and should be taken care of.  Hakuna matata!
